The Gibson Les Paul Traditional in Heritage Cherry Sunburst is a USA-made single-cut solid-body electric guitar built in 2009. It uses a mahogany body with traditional weight relief and a carved maple top finished in gloss Heritage Cherry Sunburst nitrocellulose lacquer. The guitar features a set mahogany neck with a rounded 50s-style profile, a rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays, a 24.75-inch scale length, and 22 medium jumbo frets.
The hardware specification includes a Tune-O-Matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece, vintage-style keystone tuners, and cream binding across the body and fingerboard. The Traditional series was introduced after Gibson redesigned the Les Paul Standard in 2008, retaining the older-style construction approach with less aggressive chambering and more classic visual appointments. The body construction focuses on maintaining the heavier, more solid response associated with earlier Les Paul generations.
The electronics consist of dual humbucking pickups wired through a three-way selector switch with independent volume and tone controls for each pickup. The circuit follows the traditional Les Paul passive wiring layout and delivers bridge, neck, and combined pickup operation without active electronics or modern switching systems.
