AZ Series

The Ibanez AZ series has been developed with collaborations between Ibanez and world-class musicians such as Martin Miller and the band Polyphia. The AZ range has boutique inspired specifications, fusing the aesthetics of classic guitars with a thoroughly up-to-date playing setup.

Boutique Tonewoods

The Ibanez AZ-224F Premium in Brown Topaz Burst has a American basswood body which provides a versatile tonality with well-balanced frequency response and excellent resonance. The flamed maple top delivers bright overtones and a stand-out aesthetic that will look great on stage.

The fingerboard is roasted maple – this tonewood is naturally warm sounding and the roasting process removes impurities to create an incredibly stable and resonant addition to your tone. The roasted maple also makes the fingerboard more consistent across its length, ensuring each note will ring out with equal clarity.

The headstock features a return to Ibanez’s classic design, and gives this the AZ-224F a distinctly vintage-inspired look.

Effortless Playability

Ibanez are renowned for their ability to design and make guitars with a truly effortless playability. The AZ-224F features stainless steel jumbo frets that not only help the strings ring with more resonance, they also last far longer than traditional nickel frets before showing signs of wear.

The jumbo-sized frets give improved control over the strings and make playing solo techniques far easier, such as when applying string-bends and vibrato. Luminescent side dot inlays are a nice professional addition that help with playing on darkly-lit stages.

The asymmetric double cutaway body is comfortably contoured and gives excellent access to the top-end of the fingerboard. The new bolt-on joint is a very low-profile design enabling even easier access to the top of the neck.

Seymour Duncan Hyperion Pickups

The Seymour Duncan Hyperion pickups are mounted in a HSS arrangement for a genre-hopping capability with both single-coil and humbucker tones. They are wired with ‘dyna-MIX9’ switching and an ‘Alter Switch’ for access to a different tonal voice.

This arrangement of pickups and electronics is incredibly versatile and makes the AZ-224F capable of performing in a multitude of musical genres.

Quality Hardware

The AZ-224F has a plethora of thoughtful considerations enabling professional performance. The Graph Tech nut and Gotoh locking tuners give a stable platform and low-friction action for tuning stability. Despite the non-locking tremolo design, the Gotoh tremolo bridge provides a smooth 2-pivot action that can still allow for extreme whammy bar use. The locking tuners will ensure your strings remain locked in place and in tune throughout your playing. The AZ-224F comes complete with a Gig Bag so you’ll be immediately ready to get gigging and rehearsing.
